Alhaji Iyanda Sawaba, popularly known as Easy Sawaba, is a veteran Fuji Musician. He is a native of Ile Aperin in Orita- Aperin area of Ibadan, Oyo State, Southwest Nigeria. Sawaba who was born in Ghana on 11 November 1951, has had a major career in the Fuji Music industry in the 1970s and 1980s. He was a great force to reckon with in the industry.
Sawaba has dropped more than twenty-two albums including Suru, Igbo Odaju, Pata Olokun, Ayetoto, and Oroseniwo among others from the stable of old Adetunji Records (Babalaje Records) owned by the present Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso 1.
He became more popular with his leading role among the then-younger generation of Fuji musicians who supported the late Fuji icon, Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, when the supremacy rivalry between the former and General Kollington Ayinla was red hot. After the ‘Ceasefire’, he was signed on the stable of the Keji Okunowo-led defunct Sony Music in 1992, where he released another successful album titled Message as produced by Laolu Akins.
His latest album, “Correction,” was published in 2018 at the age of 67, and it has received widespread acclaim both at home and abroad.
Alhaji performed at KOF Sports Cafe in August 2019.
